2013 Beach Training Camp
Great weekend of training with awesome students and instructors!
If you missed the recent training camp at Orange Beach, no worries... Black Friday Hyper Camp! On Friday, 11/29 botht he Daphne and Semmes locations will be hosting a training camp for everyone. We will be unveiling some of our new Hyper (Stands for High Performance) curriculum filled with great new kicking drills, combinations, and exercises! Each Hyper camp has a specific theme and we have decided to kick off this new curriculum with the "BE AWESOME" theme camp.
Parents can drop off the kids in the morning and do their Black Friday shopping while we train the students. We will provide drinks and snacks but everyone should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break. Get registered or get more info at the front desk... SEE YOU THERE!
The Daphne school will open on Monday, November 11th which is Veteran's Day. The school calendar originally listed us as closed but will be run classes in preparation for the upcoming Beach Training Camp. We are filling up spaces for the training camp so if you would like to attend, please register as soon as possible! :-)
As some of you may already know, we have been hard at work making some adjustments to our curriculum at the Daphne school. We are still working out some of the kinks but things are progressing quite well. It is our intent to add in a more "Diverse" curriculum which will include elements from Japanese Karate, Weapons Training, Self-Defense, new Taekwondo training, and more dynamic breaking techniques. Some students are already working on some of the new curriculum while others are training hard on the existing material. No worries, during this current testing cycle, we will have a little bit of both in the classroom and students will have the option of testing with whatever they have been training with. We look forward to seeing everyone in action as we gradually roll out this exciting new curriculum!
Everyone is settling into the school routine which means managing school, homework, football games, and plenty of other activities. Now is a good time for students and parents to sit down and make a plan for a consistent training schedule. Martial arts students should strive for an attendance of two classes per week. Most classes are 45 minutes in length so that adds up to about 1.5 hours per week... Very manageable, IF you plan ahead for it and make a commitment to integrate your Taekwondo and Karate training into your weekly routine. Simply set up your training schedule and then stick to it!
If you find that your weekly schedule conflicts with class times, please talk with an instructor... Many times we can suggest alternate days and times that will fit even the busiest schedule. You…
